HistoryA seedling selected from a nursery tree by F.M. Owens (Thompson and Young, 1985). Comments'Owens' is a large, thick-shelled nut with a low percent kernel. Yields have been consistent, but unfortunately kernel color is too dark and quality too poor for this cultivar to have commercial potential.
Compare kernel yield of 'Owens' to some other cultivars here.
