Research Goals:

Develop innovative technology for safe, accurate and timely application of biological and chemical pesticides through irrigation systems, irrigation system attached sprayers and conventional ground sprayers that emphasize reduced pesticidal drift, environmental contamination and human exposure.

CRIS Project: Development of Innovative Pest Control Strategies with Biological and Chemical Control Agents - 6602-22000-021-00D

Major Accomplishments:

Developed chemigation systems and methods to efficiently apply chemical and biological control agents in irrigation water, and defined novel methods to disperse parasites and pathogens for use in insect management systems. Determined pesticide/oil droplet diameter distributions in chemigation systems and related it to insect management. Developed an irrigation system simulator for small plot irrigation and chemigation research.
