2008 Georgia-Florida Tobacco Tour
JUNE 9, 2008
You and your co-workers are invited to attend the "2008 Georgia - Florida Tobacco Tour". The tour will begin with a Kick-Off Supper in Lake City, FL at the Columbia County Extension Office on Monday, June 9, and end near Hazlehurst on Wednesday, June 11, 2008.
Supper will be served at 7:00 p.m. at the Columbia County Extension Office (See Directions and map) on Monday, June 9, 2008. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites in Lake City PH: 1 386 754 1411. Identify yourself as part of the "Tobacco Tour" for Special Rates. Other hotels are available in the area.
JUNE 10, 2008
Tuesday
morning, the tour will leave from the Holiday Inn parking lot at 7:30 a.m. to
visit Florida and Georgia tobacco farms and producers.
Lunch will be at the Tifton
Campus Conference Center in Tifton, GA.
After noon we will visit the
Bowen Farm and the Black Shank Nursery of the Coastal Plain Experiment Station
on the University
of Georgia Tifton Campus.
Tuesday evening, the Georgia Tobacco Tour, headquarters will be the
Holiday
Inn in Waycross
(PH: 1 912 283 4490). Identify
yourself as part of the "Tobacco Tour" for
Special Rates.
Other hotels are available in the area.
Directions for Supper will be available at check-in.
JUNE 11, 2008
Wednesday morning, the tour will leave the Holiday Inn at 7:30 a.m. and visit additional on-farm demonstrations in Coffee and Jeff Davis Counties. The tour will end before lunch.
